Watering at the Garden

Gardeners are responsible for signing up for two water weeks during the growing season. The designated waterer is to water all of the community beds thoroughly at least twice a week (barring extreme drought/ heat or lots of rainfall). SHarP has an agreement with the homeowner to the south (brick home) to use his water to fill our rain barrels. The designated waterer is to keep these barrels reasonably full during the week they are watering. Others who notice the barrels reaching empty may also refill them. Please be respectful and mindful to turn the water off when you are done. Use the hose near the rain barrels and attach it to the spigot near the corner of the house.

Please make sure the water is turned completely off when done filling the rain barrels. Also, located on the top of the barrel lid is a hole that’s been slightly widened and accommodates the end of the hose to fill the barrel, however if you need to remove the lid to fill the barrels, feel free, just remember to replace the screen under the top and don’t over-tighten the lid, just spin it down one turn.
